Dear Friends and Families
of Commack PTA,
I
cannot believe that 10 months ago I was writing my “Welcome” letter and here
I am composing my “Farewells.” It has truly been my honor and a privilege to
serve as Council President. I consider myself lucky to have made new
friendships as well as had the opportunity to strengthen bonds with old
friends, and I will always cherish these friendships. To each member of the
executive committee, chair people, unit representatives, unit presidents,
teachers, administration and the Board of Education, I wish to express my
sincere thanks for your participation and hard work in, not only in
continuing, but also furthering the goals and mission of PTA. Every child in
this school district has benefited in some way because of it and I am proud
to have been a part of that effort. I hope you all realize what a difference
you’ve made this year through your many, many hours of volunteer work. THANK
YOU!
On behalf of PTA we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Dr. James
Feltman, the Great Wizard of Commack-(if you heard my speech at his
retirement party- you will know what I am talking about!), for his countless
hours of dedicated service and support to the PTA. We wish for him a Yellow
brick road paved with happy days with his family and friends and an Emerald
city that awaits him and his wife Marie, with many new and exciting
adventures. We will miss him dearly and wish him all of the very best,
always!
It is with great pleasure that the PTA would like to welcome Dr. Donald
James, the new Superintendent of the Commack School District. Dr. James
brings with him a wealth of experience and a great appreciation of the
Commack Community. We are very much looking forward to working with him.
Congratulations, Dr. James and welcome aboard!
I also want to welcome your new Commack PTA Council President, Jacki
Fleishhacker. She has consistently served on various Executive Committees at
every building level and has been a prominent member of the PTA for many
years. I know she will do terrific job-congratulations, Jacki!
In closing, I want to thank the Commack Community for its support of PTA and
for the support and encouragement I have received as your president. On
behalf of PTA Council, we applaud the accomplishments of our outstanding
Class of 2010 seniors. We congratulate you as you graduate and wish you
continued success in your future endeavors.
Wishing you all a fun, safe and restful summer!
